🛡 Wallet Safety Self-Check Score
Farming means keeping money in a self-custody wallet long-term, and most thefts aren't down to some clever exploit — they're a couple of habits left undone. Tick honestly, see your safety score, and which items to shore up first. All computed locally, collects nothing. red tag = critical item
Why these items matter (especially the red-tag critical ones)
Wallet safety isn't mysterious — the overwhelming majority of thefts trip over the items below. The two red-tag items are critical: break just one and everything else you've stacked up won't hold:
- Store your seed phrase offline only, never type it into any website. Your seed phrase is the master key to your wallet, and any page asking you to "enter your seed phrase to verify / recover / claim an airdrop" is a scam. Once it leaks, your assets can be swept out instantly, and it's irreversible.
- Split your holdings: large amounts in a hardware/cold wallet, only small amounts in your hot farming wallet. A farming wallet constantly connects to all sorts of sites and signs all sorts of approvals, so its risk is inherently high. Keep it separate from your "vault," and even if the hot wallet is compromised, the loss has a ceiling.
- Periodically clean up approvals (revoke). Every approval you grant on DeFi gives a contract the right to move the corresponding tokens. Using revoke.cash to regularly revoke approvals you no longer need plugs the big "approval phishing" hole.
- Read the popup before you sign. Many account thefts happen when users blind-sign a popup they don't understand. If you can't make sense of it or it's from an unknown source, it's better not to sign.
